Man arrested after alleged break and enter attempt at Sooke Road bank

A 34-year old Sooke man faces charges following an alleged break and enter attempt at the TD Canada Trust Bank on Sooke Road.

Police were called to the bank on Thursday at 7:27 a.m. and found damage to the area around the drive-thru ATM at the rear of the building.

The garbage can and deposit slip holder had been ripped off the wall and there was a hole approximately 6″ in diameter cut through to the inside of the bank.

An investigation led police to arrest 34-year old Gregory John Cunningham.

He is charged with break and enter, possession of housebreaking instruments and possession of methamphetamine.

Cunningham remains in custody and is due to appear in court again on January 18th
