An employee at a home improvement store in the Victoria region has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Lowe’s Canada has confirmed that an employee working at their store on Tillicum Road recently tested positive for the virus.

The employee last worked on March 29 and Lowe’s Canada says it only became aware of the positive test on Friday, April 2.

“Associates identified as having been in close contact with the infected associate are put on preventive paid quarantine at home,” a statement on Lowe’s website reads.

The company says it takes each confirmed case of COVID-19 infection among their employees “extremely” seriously.
