Last minute Christmas prep has shoppers in a hurry

It’s Christmas Eve, a time when the hustle and bustle of the season is already done, a time to relax by the fire with family and friends.

But for some, the day before Christmas is the day to rush and get it all done and now. They can’t waste any more time. On Sunday morning, Mayfair Mall was busy with shoppers in a hurry to find last-minute gifts and prep before Christmas.

“We’re starting our Christmas shopping this morning and we are heading in to get our groceries for tonight right now,” said one shopper.

But with all the holiday stress already one might ask why wait until the very last day?

“I have a one-year-old and I work in Sooke, so with my schedule, I had absolutely no time,” said Andrew Strock.

“I’ve been busy working fixing everyone else’s Christmas and now I have to do my own,” said Graham Smith.

As the hours go by, kids are waiting for presents and adults bracing for snow.

“I’m from Nova Scotia and we always have a white Christmas and it would be really nice to have a white Christmas here with my family that I haven’t spent Christmas with in many years,” said Coleen Hare.
