The Times Colonist’s annual book sale kicked off on Saturday at the Victoria Curling Club, 1952 Quadra St., with many waiting in a huge line that stretched for blocks.

The two-day book sale, which ends Sunday (May 15), returned for the first time since 2019 after the coronavirus pandemic forced organizers to cancel it the previous two years.

This year, there are roughly 500,000 books available for purchase.

Proceeds are donated to supporting literacy programs on Vancouver Island.

The book sale ends at 5 p.m. Sunday.

For details on the book sale’s layout and more information, visit the Times Colonist’s website or click here.
