The RCMP impounded a vehicle belonging to a man’s father— and then another belonging to his mother — after he was pulled over for impaired driving twice on the same afternoon.

Police say a man in his 30s failed a breathalyzer when he was stopped in North Vancouver yesterday afternoon after they received a report that an erratic driver had hit a parked car.

His father’s vehicle was impounded and his licence was suspended for 90 days — but the same officer found the man behind the wheel again after receiving another report that an erratic driver almost hit a cyclist and then crashed into another parked car.

This time the man was arrested for impaired driving in what Sergeant Peter DeVries calls an unbelievable situation.
