This house will be moved up the Malahat on Aug. 31, 2018.

A house will be moved up the Malahat very early Friday morning.

Belton Bros. Structural and House Movers have finished their first day of transporting a house from Langford to Chemainus. The house is currently at Goldstream Provincial Park

Due to regulations, the house will be moved on the Malahat to Cobble Hill from 12:01 a.m. to 4:59 a.m. Drivers on the Malahat highway should expect delays and should yield to spotters and traffic flaggers.

After Friday’s transport, house can’t be moved again until overnight on Monday because work is on the Silver Bridge in Duncan. The bridge has to be closed to let the house through the area.

By Tuesday, the house should be in Chemainus. It has been purchased as a recycled house and will be stored in Chemainus for approximately two to three weeks until a building permit is issued for a property on Old Lake Cowichan Road.
