A man wanted on several warrants was arrested after barricading himself in the suite of a multi-unit facility in Victoria Wednesday night.
Victoria Police officers located the man at the temporary housing facility in the 800-block of Johnson Street shortly after 12 p.m.
The man was wanted on several warrants for failing to comply with a probation order related to an assault with a weapon incident, along with a number of drug trafficking offences.
VicPD says the man refused to surrender to officers and barricaded himself inside a suite.
The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) responded and after several hours of negotiations, deployed a loud distraction device.
The man surrendered without incident shortly after 5 p.m. There were no injuries in the arrest.
