Get Up and Grow: Winter blooming Camellias

In this episode of Get Up and Grow, CHEK’s Hannah Lepine and Gord Nickel, president of Wildwood Outdoor Living Centre talk about Camellias that will bloom in the winter.

These bright evergreen shrubs will bloom for several weeks and may even make it through to March.

Camellias are best planted in rich, moist, well-draining soil and partly shaded areas.

Gord tells Hannah to water them consistently, but make sure not to overwater them as they will rot.

He then goes over some tips for planting the various types and some things to keep in mind when picking out a pot.
