Get Up and Grow: How to get rid of algae in ponds

In this episode of Get Up and Grow, CHEK’s Hannah Lepine and Gord Nickel, president of Wildwood Outdoor Living Centre, talk about some ways to get rid of algae in your pond.

Gord first shows Hannah some aquatic plants that absorb algae forming nutrients and help keep the water clear, and also add a nice touch to the overall appearance. He also shares some good tips, like not overfeeding your fish, as excess food will drift to the bottom and rot.

Finally, Gord shows Hannah an enzyme solution, a type of bacteria and water pumps that will also do the trick.
