Raging rivers and floods continue on Vancouver Island, as a flood warning is maintained for the Somass River near Port Alberni.

That also including Sproat River, Ash River and tributaries.

Late this morning, the BC River Forecast Centre said water levels for those three rivers have come down and will see modest improvement through most of Monday.

Environment Canada is forecasting showers today with up to 40 millimetres anticipated tonight, which brings with it the potential for additional rises.

That’s on top of a series of storms that deluged the Port Alberni area last week and over the weekend.
