The BC Highway Patrol nabbed a Ferrari driver going 137 km/h on the Malahat and impounded the newer model supercar for seven days.

Last month, the driver with Alberta plates hit a speed trap going 57 km/h over the posted speed limit on the Malahat highway, near Aspen Road.

The officer who spotted the vehicle said the driver quickly caught their attention after they passed several cars while heading northbound.

Once the vehicle was pulled over, the driver was identified as a woman from Alberta in her 20s.

She was given a ticket for excessive speed and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The owner of the car, who was also from Alberta, arrived on scene not long after to collect the driver as well as the vehicle impoundment notice.
