Police say an SUV driver did not come to a full stop before a rollover collision in Sidney on Monday morning.

At around 9:30 a.m., the Sidney Fire Department, Sidney/North Saanich RCMP and BC Ambulance were called to a two-vehicle crash at Fifth Street and Henry Avenue. Police said when crews arrived, they saw a brown SUV had been struck on the passenger side by a Town of Sidney pickup truck.

Investigators spoke with witnesses and the drivers and determined the driver of the SUV, who was going eastbound, did not completely stop at the Fifth Street and Henry Avenue intersection. According to police, the driver of the pickup truck that was going northbound on Fifth Street was not able to stop and hit the SUV. The SUV then rolled onto its side.

All drivers and passengers were examined by BC Ambulance crews but no one required any further immediate medical treatement.

Police said the driver of the SUV received a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign. They are also reminding drivers to remain vigilant of traffic signs and their surroundings.
