The hot, dry, hazy weather is coming to an end as the strong ridge of high pressure over the B.C. coast begins to shift, allowing a low-pressure system to approach Vancouver Island late Saturday evening and into Sunday.
Winds are also shifting, bringing cooler marine air over the region, and clearing the smoky haze that has been hanging over Vancouver Island from the wildfires in the interior of the province.
The rain will ease late Sunday, and conditions will return to a mix of sun and cloud and cooler temperatures with highs across the island in the low to mid-20s next week.
