The snowfall seen over the weekend for Islanders isn’t letting up on Sunday as Environment Canada puts out a snowfall warning for much of Vancouver Island, from Greater Victoria all the way up to Campbell River.
Greater Victoria
In Greater Victoria, 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected as a Pacific front will cross Vancouver Island during the day, spreading snow over Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast.
The snow will change over to rain over Greater Victoria and Southern Gulf Islands Sunday evening as another system reaches Vancouver Island, but is expected to continue as snow at times mixed with rain until Monday morning over other regions, according to Environment Canada.
Another 2 to 4 cm is forecast for Sunday night over most regions, except over the Inland Vancouver Island, where a total of 15 to 25 cm of snow is expected to fall by Monday morning.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” warns the weather organization. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”
The Malahat
On the elevated Malahat, heavier snowfall is expected. A long period of snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is projected to fall over the five-kilometre stretch of Highway 1, says Environment Canada.
As the Pacific front is expected to cross Vancouver Island Sunday, a total amount of 20 to 30 cm of snow is expected by Monday afternoon.

Duncan to Campbell River
East Vancouver Island is getting its fair share of snow, with 5 to 10 cm expected to fall on Sunday, from Duncan to Nanaimo, Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay and Courtenay to Campbell River.
A total snowfall amount of 5 to 10 cm is expected today, and another 2 to 4 cm is forecast for tonight over most regions.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” said Environment Canada.
Inland Vancouver Island
The Inland is also expecting 5 to 10 cm of snow Sunday, according to Environment Canada.
But the night brings heavier flurries for the area and while 2 to 4 cm is forecast for tonight over most regions, the Inland can expect much more. Approximately 15 to 25 cm is expected to fall by Monday morning.
West Coast
The West Coast is also under a snowfall warning, with Environment Canada projected 5 to 10 cm of snow on Sunday.
Residents in Tofino and Ucluelet are warned of limited visibility, and are asked to adjust driving habits to accommodate for the snow.

There are currently no weather warnings for the North Island or the West Coast coastal areas.
