Emergency power outage planned for North Island communities tonight: BC Hydro

A large section of northern Vancouver Island will be without power overnight.

BC Hydro says a planned outage for communities north of Sayward will take place from 11 p.m. Saturday (May 7) until 1 a.m. Sunday (May 8) in order to perform emergency repairs on damaged equipment.

The outage will impact nearly 7,500 customers in communities including Port Hardy, Port McNeill, Port Alice, Alert Bay, Beave Cove, Telegraph Cove and Woss.
