WATCH: A large ridge of high pressure is building and will result in several sunny warm days with temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s.
Environment Canada has issued a special statement indicating that the first heat wave of the year has arrived and to be cautious. Look for a complete clear out overnight with lows of 11 C. Saturday will be in the full sunshine with highs in the mid 20s. Fathers Day will be even warmer with temps hovering around 30 C and as warm 34 C for Port Alberni. This pattern is expected to continue well into next week.
