Ed’s Forecast: Heavy rain tonight and Wednesday, wind warnings are up for many parts of the Island

WATCH: A large front is bearing down on Vancouver Island and rain and strong southeastern winds will push in tonight and Wednesday.

Wind warnings are up for the north, west and east Vancouver Island with southeastern winds gusting to 90 km/hr for Tofino, and  80-100 km/hr for Port Alice. Look for rain, southeastern wind and lows of 6 C tonight. Wednesday will be wet with heavy rain for west Vancouver Island, 50 millimetres are possible and highs of 9 C. Thursday stays unsettled with more showers and temperatures slightly cooler at 7 C.
