Early morning fire displaces six people in Central Saanich

A fire at a residence in Central Saanich has displaced six people.

According to the Central Saanich Volunteer Firefighters Association, crews responded to a fire at a duplex on 7987 Galbraith Cres. in the early morning hours on Sunday.

North Saanich Fire and Sidney Volunteer Fire Department also responded.

“Everyone was able to make it safely out of the home, but unfortunately both sides of the duplex sustained heavy damage,” the Central Saanich Volunteer Firefighters Association.

The cause is still under investigation, while all six people are cared for by the region’s emergency social assistance.
