

B.C. Hydro expects power to be restored for 1,000 customers around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The first power outages were at 4:30 a.m., and the majority were without power at 7:43 a.m.
Crews from B.C. Hydro are working to restore power to close to 1,000 customers Wednesday morning after trees came down across wires on Gabriola Island.

The majority of those affected by the outage on the western half of the Island happened just before 7:45 a.m.
