Cyclist suffers non-life-threatening injuries in collision with vehicle in Victoria

UPDATE: The condition of a cyclist who was taken to hospital following a collision with a vehicle has been upgraded to non-life-threatening.

Victoria Police announced that shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday night, after earlier reporting the cyclist had life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say patrol officers were called shortly after 5 p.m. to the area of Gorge Road East and Bridge Street for a report of a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle.

The cyclist was transported to hospital.

Victoria Police says one lane of eastbound traffic remains closed on Gorge Road East, near Bridge Street.

Police are asking for anyone with information, or video from the scene, to call the Victoria Police non-emergency line at 250-995-7654, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
