Crash map shows vehicle collisions in Victoria between 2017 and 2021.

The numbers are in with Douglas at Finlayson Street taking the top spot for the intersection with the most recorded vehicle crashes in Victoria, according to ICBC.

New data released this week finds the notorious intersection saw 244 crashes resulting in either injury or death between 2017 and 2021, with 44 of those crashes happening last year alone.

A crash map shows Bay at Blanshard Street trailed behind with 235 crashes over the last five years, while Blanshard Street at Hillside Avenue saw 229, and the area of Douglas Street, Hillside Avenue and Gorge Road East saw 213.

Between that same time period, Hillside Avenue at Shelbourne Street recorded 202 crashes, Blanshard at Finlayson Street saw 193 and Bay at Quadra Street saw 153.

Further down the list, Pandora Avenue at Wharf Street, the scene of a collision on Tuesday, recorded 46 crashes.

The recent incident, captured on video, saw a cyclist taken away by an ambulance after being struck by a truck near the Johnson Street Bridge entrance just before noon.

According to ICBC, information on its crash map may not be entirely accurate due to rounding errors, late reporting or corrections to the data.

Together, it says Victoria’s top 10 intersections totalled just over 1,850 crashes.
