Police continue investigation into Tuesday shooting in Courtenay that left a man with non-life threatening injuries.

A Courtenay resident was injured and no arrests have been made after a shooting incident Tuesday afternoon.

Comox Valley RCMP went to the 900 block of Salisbury Road in Courtenay at 4:20 p.m. to a report of a shooting where they found a 57-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say it appears the shooting was a targeted event.

The investigation continues being led by Comox Valley RCMP Major Crimes with the help of the Police Dog Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section.
