Condition of Nanaimo woman involved in transport truck crash upgraded

Investigators at work following a crash Wednesday morning between two transport trucks in Nanaimo.

Nanaimo RCMP says the condition of a driver badly injured Wednesday in a collision involving two transport trucks has been upgraded from life-threatening to stable.

The 35-year-old woman was driving a marked Tim Horton’s delivery truck when RCMP say her vehicle collided with the rear of another transport truck around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.

The crash happened on the Nanaimo Parkway, near Northfield Road.

The 71-year-old male driver in the other semi was not hurt.

Nanaimo RCMP says they are still investigating what caused the two trucks to collide.

Investigators are asking any witnesses with either dashcam or cell phone video of the crash to call Nanaimo RCMP.
