Comox woman wins $75K from BC lottery ticket

A resident of the Comox Valley has a skip in her step after winning $75,000 on a B.C. lottery ticket.

Shirley Burke from Comox is $75,000 richer after winning on a BC/49 lottery ticket during the October 27, 2021 draw.

The Comox resident purchased her ticket from Quality Foods on Guthrie Road and says she was in the store when she discovered she’d won.

“I found out I won and couldn’t believe it,” she recalled. “My first thought was, ‘What am I going to do with this win?’”

Burke says she would like to invest some of her prize and hasn’t quite decided what to do with the rest, according to the BC Lottery Corporation.

She also emphasized the fact that the win feels “unbelievable.”
