Comox Valley RCMP say they would like to speak with a woman who may have stopped an attempted sexual assault at Simms Millennium Park in Courtenay.

A woman reported to police that at around 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 12, she was exiting the bathroom at the park when someone pushed her and tried to remove her pants.

Police believe an unidentified woman may have interrupted the attempted assault and they would like to speak with this person. They would also like anyone else who was in the area at the same time last Friday to come forward.

The woman told police she thinks the suspect is a man. Police say he was wearing a black hoodie, yellow socks and white running shoes.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 and refer to file 2018-14574. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
