If you’ve ever wanted to stream CHEK newscasts, stories and original shows to your smartphone, tablet or smart TV, there’s now an app for that.

CHEK Media has launched its first-ever dedicated streaming and on-demand service, called CHEK+.

Available on Apple TV, iOS, Roku TV, Android Mobile and some Android TV devices, CHEK+ will let viewers enjoy newscasts, including full episodes as well as clips, and programming like Donnie and Dhali – The Team without a cable connection or subscription fee.

The app will also arrive soon on Amazon Fire TV and additional services.

The app features livestreams of newscasts and special event programming including Sunday’s live broadcast of the Canada 200 stock car race from the West Shore Motorsports Park in Langford.

Also available on-demand and streaming are CHEK Podcasts, including MicCHEK, Our Native Land, Political Capital and Amy McGeachy’s House Guests.

The launch of the new platform coincides with the 12-year aniversary of CHEK becoming employee-owned and will change the way viewers from Vancouver Island and beyond can access CHEK programming.

“We are excited about the launch of CHEK+,” said Rob Germain, General Manager of CHEK Media Group.  “CHEK+ marks the evolution of CHEK, to a truly multi-media company serving Vancouver Island and beyond.”

In addition to Apple TV and some Android TV devices, you can also download the app on iOS here or from the Google Play store here.
