Lynx Air — a new Canadian airline that describes itself as “ultra-affordable” — will celebrate its first flight to and from Victoria International Airport this week.

Lynx’s inaugural flight to Victoria is scheduled to arrive from Calgary at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 12.

As part of the inaugural journey to Victoria, Lynx says it is planning a water cannon greeting for the arriving aircraft, official remarks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The ultra-low airline plans on offering two services per week between Calgary and Victoria, increasing to three weekly trips by June 22, 2022.

With the addition of Victoria, the Lynx’s network will now fly to six Canadian cities including Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Kelowna.

Lynx says that prices will start at $39 one way from Victoria to Calgary and $49 one way in the opposite direction, making the baseline return trip come in under the $100 mark, however, a quick search on the company’s website show those prices are only available when booking a flight several months away.

For full schedule details and more information on the ultra-affordable airline, customers can visit Lynx’s website at www.FlyLynx.com.
