BC Ferries cancels sailings between Mill Bay and Brentwood Bay

A handful of scheduled sailings between Mill Bay and Brentwood Bay have been cancelled.

BC Ferries says in a service notice posted on its website that sailings between 1:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the Mill Bay-Brentwood Bay route will not be operating on Saturday (July 23) because of a staff shortage on the Klitsa.

All other Saturday sailings are expected to operate as scheduled.

“We require a specific number of crew members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations,” BC Ferries said on its website.

BC Ferries has been plagued with cancellations due to staff shortages recently. Multiple Saturday sailings between Salt Spring Island and Swartz Bay have also been cancelled. Last Sunday, afternoon and evening sailings were cancelled between Fulford Harbour and Swartz Bay, Long Harbour and Tsawwassen, Long Harbour and Sturdies Bay and Studies Bay to Tsawwassen.

1:50 p.m. departing Mill Bay
2:25 p.m. departing Brentwood Bay
3:00 p.m. departing Mill Bay
3:35 p.m. departing Brentwood Bay
4:10 p.m. departing Mill Bay
4:45 p.m. departing Brentwood Bay
5:20 p.m. departing Mill Bay
5:55 p.m. departing Brentwood Bay
6:30 p.m. departing Mill Bay
