A ‘National Treasure’ trove of Ammonites has researchers at the Royal BC Museum discovering new things about BC’s ancient underwater environment.

A Victoria man donated his collection of rare Ammonite fossils to the museum. The meticulous notes which came with the gift and the condition of the fossils qualified it for ‘National Treasure’ status.  Researchers at the Royal BC Museum are studying the ancient squid fossils to determine what the environment was like in BC around 80 million years ago.
