About The Role

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Sales Strategist to work alongside a strong, creative and mature local sales team. The Digital Marketing Strategist will bring innovation, passion and creativity to implement digital marketing opportunities to support our local clients. Working directly with local business owners, you will develop strong, trusting long term partnerships. You will identify new clients’ needs and demonstrate how CHEK’s digital marketing platforms will support their business goals along with CHEK Television. The Digital Marketing Sales Strategist will work in collaboration with the local sales team, IT dept and other departments as needed.

The Digital Marketing Sales Strategist’s primary focus will be:

  • Creating digital sales opportunities as part of cross platform selling strategies
  • Identifying and creating new, unique digital initiatives designed to increase overall digital revenues while growing online views

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop tasks, priorities, deliverables, with team stakeholders (internal and client) on a regular basis.
  • Attend project-related meetings such as kickoffs, brainstorms, and reviews with clients and Sales Managers to develop strategies.
  • You will be strategic and forward-thinking in your approach, understand the client and take responsibility for account performance.
  • Plan, develop and implement marketing strategies
  • Develop video and social media content, implement SEO performance strategies,
  • Stay current in marketing trends, google updates and changes in algorithms
  • Track and interpret and analyze key performance metrics of digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals.
  • Solid knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends, SEMRush, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools, chat bots, automated email flows
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing pay per click campaigns on all major search engines
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Skilled in creating relevant targeted digital content across all levels of digital media presence, including social sites, website landing pages, automated email flows, chat bots, backlink blogs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Marketing, Sales, Social Media degree or diploma with a strong understanding of marketing concepts and various media.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a multi-media platform environment.
  • A thorough understanding of Google Analytics and AdWords, Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, etc.
  • A detailed understanding of digital platforms, research and analytics.
  • Experience developing and maintaining highly organized social media advertising
  • Experience in search engine management and optimization (SEM & SEO)
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • In-depth knowledge of current social media trends and how to maximize their potential to engage audiences

What we offer

  • This is a full-time non-unionized position
  • Work location is primarily an onsite position at our Victoria head office with required client visits, some flexibility for remote work in the Victoria area.
  • 8-hour shift, primarily Monday to Friday, some weekends may be required as needed.
  • Salary range to commensurate with experience.
  • Full extended health care benefits and 3 weeks’ vacation to start
  • Reports to General Sales and Marketing Manager
