Mounties have seized tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs, as well as cash from a home in Port Alberni.
According to a Port Alberni RCMP press release, officers with their crime reduction unit, frontline members and Police Dog Services executed a search warrant at a residence on March 19.
Once inside the home, officers found evidence of a drug trafficking operation and seized Heroin and Fentanyl with a street value of over $24,000, drug paraphernalia, several thousand dollars in cash, the release notes.
The suspect’s vehicle was also seized.
“Our members put forth a lot of hard work and effort into this investigation. This seizure has put a significant dent into the drug trade within Port Alberni,” said Insp. Eric Rochette of the Port Alberni RCMP said in a press release.
RCMP say two local men are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
