150 mm of rain possible for parts of Island by Tuesday

WATCH: It’s going to be an incredibly wet start to the work week across Vancouver Island. Ceilidh Millar has your long-range forecast. 

Dig out those umbrellas this week, Islanders! As of Sunday evening, a rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada remains in place for east, inland and west Vancouver Island.

A Pacific low-pressure system will sit off of B.C.’s South Coast beginning Sunday and will last through to Tuesday.

Sub-tropical moisture will bring heavy rains and possibly snow to higher elevations.

West Vancouver Island is expected to receive the most rain as forecast amounts are on track to exceed 150 millimetre by Tuesday.
