More than $100,000 in property was damaged or stolen from a Salmon farm near Quadra Island, and RCMP are seeking information from the public to find those responsible.
Mounties received a report of a break and enter at the farm in the Oskillo Channel, between Quadra and Sonora islands, and say the theft likely happened sometime in the two weeks leading up to June 27.
According to RCMP, two Kubota model V1505 generators weighing around 1,000 lbs. each, as well as a “significant” amount of wiring and plumbing, were stolen from the site.
“The theft would have taken significant time and tools to complete,” according to RCMP in a news release.
Police say forensic investigators have been assisting in their investigation that’s ongoing.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Quadra RCMP at 250-285-3631. Tipsters can stay anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by submitting a tip here.
