There is lots of family friend fun to be had this August long weekend including a Powwow on the Tsartlip First Nation in Central Saanich.
The Yellow Wolf Powwow kicked off Friday evening but lasts until Sunday.
Everyone is welcome to take in the dancing, drumming, salmon barbeques, and crafts.
It’s the 23rd year of the event hosted by the Sampson family in honour of Alice Sampson.
Chief Don Tom said everyone is invited.
“We have vendors selling jewellery, you can have some of our traditional food, get yourself some painted on tattoos and come and spectate the wonderful dancing going on and listen to the wonderful singing,” he said.
To join in on the fun, head over to the soccer field at the end of Stelly’s Cross Road in Brentwood Bay.
