Environment Canada says high winds kick up this morning
Strong southeast winds of 70 to 100 km/h will continue this morning over the exposed coastal sections of North Vancouver Island, Central Coast and Haida Gwaii as a deep Pacific low pressure system moves through the offshore waters.
Strong southeast winds up to 70 km/h will develop over East Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast and Greater Victoria early this morning as an intense Pacific front approaches the south coast.
Strong southeast winds up to 80 km/h will continue this morning over exposed coastal sections of West Vancouver Island.
Winds are expected to ease late this morning or near midday as the front moves through.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
