West Shore RCMP investigating after Colwood Creek Park vandalized

West Shore RCMP are investigating after “extensive” damage was discovered at Colwood Creek Park Friday morning.

At around 7 a.m., West Shore RCMP were contacted by someone at the park saw several light standards with exposed wire throughout the park, which is located on Sun Ridge Valley Drive in Colwood. A control box was also accessed and tampered with. 

The City of Colwood has been notified and the damage is estimated to be more than $5,000. The Island District RCMP’s forensic identification section is assisting with the investigation into the vandalism. 

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anyone suspicious around the park overnight to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
