WATCH: A low-pressure system and shift in winds will bring a brief change to the recent dry weather pattern. Ceilidh Millar has your full forecast.
Victoria officially set a new record Friday for most consecutive days without rain.
The previous record was 53 days set in 1986!
We will start to see a shift in this dry and hazy weather pattern this weekend as a low-pressure system approaches the Island late Saturday and into Sunday.
The winds will also shift to a southwesterly direction bringing cooler marine air to the region.
This is expected to clear out the smoky haze caused by the wildfires in B.C.'s interior that have blanketed the Island this past week.
We're seeing this weather pattern already taking effect as the smoky skies advisory has been lifted for the majority of Vancouver Island.
