In a first-of-its-kind exhibition, the works of Emily Carr were displayed along side other Canadian first nations and contemporary artists at the National Gallery in Ottawa. She was a major contributor and was commissioned to do the cover art for the program on-the-spot, shortly after she arrived in December 1927. The exhibition is considered a turning point in her career, leading to a drama increase in productivity.
