Gardeners are buzzing with excitement as near record breaking temperatures begin to transform a soggy week on Vancouver Island into a stunning start to spring this weekend.

“Fruit trees are great to put in now,” says owner of Nanaimo’s Green Thumb Garden Centre. “Any of the conifers and any big trees any larger plants are really good to put in as early as possible to give them as much time to root out before the summer droughts come.”
