Watch: Costs jump to more than $100 million dollars for project
The costs continue to rise for the Johnson Street Bridge replacement project and the completion date has once again been pushed back.
Work is moving forward on the bridge, but now Victoria city council is being asked to approve another budget increase.
Just over eight million dollars for a variety of costs including mediation overruns, legal costs, and contaminated soil removal.
That brings the latest cost estimate for the project to 105 million dollars.
And the date it will open to traffic has been extended from July 2017 to December of that year, with the official completion date in spring 2018.
Meanwhile the project continues to try to address problems with the quality of its steel parts being manufactured in China.
