Victoria Royals’ Dave Lowry, Mitchell Prowse test positive for the Mumps

CHEK

Test results came in today for the Victoria Royals regarding the Mumps. The team had held head coach Dave Lowry and two players in isolation when the symptoms occurred and did not travel with the team for their interior road trip last week.

Both head coach Lowry and Royals defenceman Mitchell Prowse have tested positive for the Mumps, but Royals GM Cam Hope says both are now non-contagious and will rejoin the team for Friday night’s regular season finale against the Everett Silvertips.

As for defenceman Ralph Jarratt, he tested negative, and will also re-join the team for Friday night.

After all was said and done, Hope says the team did the right thing and acted quickly to ensure the outbreak didn’t reach more players and staff.
