Victoria Police have issued a public warning after a sexual assault in an Esquimalt Park.
Police were called to Cairn Park, also known as Highrock Park, just after 8 last night, on the report of a sexual assault.
They discovered a woman, who was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say it’s important to be vigilant and aware when out, especially at night.
“Know where you are, know your route but especially just get your heads out of your cell phones when your walking and be aware of people and activity that is around you, “says Victoria Police Constable Matt Rutherford.
Investigators are appealing to those in the area to report anything suspicious.
They are specifically looking for information on a white man, in his late 30s or early 40s with close-cropped hair.
He was walking two dogs, one dark coloured and one light coloured.
