Charges could be pending against a former employee at Victoria MLA Rob Fleming’s constituency office.
Fleming released a statement today saying he’d filed a complaint with VicPD after discovering funds missing from his office.
A discovery the NDP MLA for Victoria-Swan Lake wrote was “shocking” because it involved someone who he worked closely with.
Fleming writes that the former employee, who was not named, could face charges of theft and forgery.
He adds “After working carefully to compile the information for use by police to investigate this former employee’s activities, I am both relieved and satisfied that charges will be brought forward and I will reserve final judgement until the process concludes. “
Fleming was elected to represent the riding of Victoria-Hillside in 2005, and was re-elected to represent Victoria-Swan Lake in 2009 and 2013.
He is the Official Opposition Critic for Education
