Victoria Grizzlies force Game 7 with comeback win

CHEK

Despite an early 2-0 deficit, the Victoria Grizzlies clawed their way back and managed to defeat the Powell River Kings by a score of 4-2 in Game 6 of their best-of-seven BCHL playoff series last night.

Grizzlies forward Keyvan Mokhtari registered three points on the night, including a wonderful move before dishing off to Tyler Welsh to get the Grizzlies on the board early in the second period.

Then in the third period, the Grizzlies knotted the game up thanks to Jamie Rome, who snapped one past Powell River goalie Brian Wilson in the slot.

Shortly after, Welsh made a terrific play behind the Powell River net to find a wide open Nick Guiney who made no mistake, giving the Grizzlies the lead midway through the third.

Guiney would add an empty net goal in the dying seconds to seal the deal, as the Grizzlies now head back to Victoria, where the two teams face off in a winner-take-all Game 7 at the Q Centre on Monday night.
