The Gustavson School of Business at UVic honoured a very special supporter today .
Marjorie Yeats was thanked for her dedicated support for students over the past 21 years.
The 93-year old was visibly moved as a commemorative plaque was unveiled in the Gustavson foyer, now officially named the Lawrence and Marjorie Yeats lobby.
Yeats established a bursary in memory of her late husband in 1995.
“I’m so grateful that my investments have done this for the university, ” Yeats told the crowd gathered for the event.
“In the years to come I hope more students benefit by my generosity and I’m sure my husband is looking down and saying Marjorie you did the right thing by investing in that university.”
The bursary provides financial support to those who would otherwise not be able to attend a post-secondary institution.
83 students have been awarded the bursary over the past two decades.
