WATCH: A 62-year-old woman is rushed to hospital with life-altering injuries after being hit by a vehicle in a serious Saanich crash Friday evening
Saanich Police are investigating a serious crash involving a pedestrian that resulted in ‘life-altering’ injuries.
The victim was hit at a busy Saanich intersection late Friday night.
It happened just before midnight at the intersection of Blanshard Street and Saanich Road.
Ambulance crews and police found a severely injured woman lying in the middle of the intersection bedside a badly damaged vehicle.
The driver stayed at the scene and is co-operating with police.
The 62-year-old pedestrian was rushed to hospital with what are believed to be serious leg, neck and head injuries.
Traffic analysts were brought in and the intersection was closed down for more than three hours as police investigated the crash.
No charges are anticipated but Saanich Police are hoping to speak with any witnesses who haven’t yet come forward.
