UPDATE 6:00PM: Victoria police now report that Magdalena Botea has been located by officers in Vancouver and is safe
Original story follows:
Victoria police say a missing Victoria woman, who is eight months pregnant and considered at high risk of harm, is now believed to be in the Lower Mainland.
Magdalena Botea went missing from the area near the Royal Jubilee Hospital around 1pm Saturday afternoon. Police say investigators have learned Botea was seen at the Swartz Bay ferry terminal about an hour later and boarded a ferry to Tsawwassen.
Botea is in her third trimester and visibly pregnant, and police say they and her family are very worried for her safety and believe she needs urgent help.
“We do not believe Magdalena is at risk from anyone else, but she requires immediate medical and other supports right away, if anyone sees her the best thing to do is to call 911,” said Victoria Police spokesman Bowen Osoko.
Botea is described as Asian, 5 feet 2 inches tall. She’s 32 years old, but appears younger. She sometimes wear oval-shaped frameless glasses and was last seen wearing dark pants and a long black and white top and a light-coloured jacket.
