Unionized staff at the Selkirk Seniors Village in Victoria have voted 98% in favour of going on strike.
197 workers at the facility near Gorge Road East cast votes on Tuesday.
Care workers saw their last collective agreement expire in September last year.
The Hospital Employees Union says talks with the owner, Retirement Concepts, broke off in June prompting the strike vote.
The union says wages are the key issue, and care staff at the facility haven’t had a raise since it opened in 2008.
