Two 6-year olds suffered injuries today when the car they were in was involved in a collision with a pick-up truck in Coombs.
It happened at 9:45 a.m. on Highway 4A about 300 metres north of the Coombs Market.
Oceanside RCMP say a Ford pickup truck collided with a Chevy Malibu that was leaving a residential address.
The children were sitting in the backseat of the Malibu.
One of them suffered head injuries and had to be transported by air ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Vancouver but is expected to fully recover.
The other child was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with minor injuries.
Three adults within the vehicles were not hurt.

Single lane traffic on Highway 4A was necessary for approximately four hours in order to conduct the ongoing investigation which involved the use of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.
