A serious car crash in Nanaimo injured three people and sent one woman to hospital with life threatening head injuries Friday evening.
The two vehicle collision happened around 9 o’clock near Woodgrove Mall.
Police believe a 55-year-old driver heading north lost control of her Honda Accord and crashed into a Toyota Corolla, which was stopped at the intersection of Hammond Bay Road and Highway 19A.
A 36-year-old woman driving the Corolla was airlifted to a Vancouver hospital with life threatening injuries. As of this Saturday morning, police said she is in stable but in serious condition.
Her 59-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Honda had leg injuries. She went to the hospital for treatment but has been released.
